Unexpectedly Actually Purchasing A Classic Mustang

I really haven’t much gotten to talk on my web site half as often as I would’ve liked, on account of the fact that I have been roped into helping my Dad manage his super nutball midlife crisis. True, I guess it’s not quite as nuts as it could possibly be. How it went, I mean what he did was he got all done up like he was Fonzie or something, and come over to my house and proclaim to me, in his hippest dialect: “Get in, son, we are out looking for some classic Mustangs. You got it, my boy, I’m going to buy an old school muscle car.”

Before I knew what was happening we were on our way to a few of those weird classic car showrooms that everybody is pretty much certain are part of some organized crime ring, and I see my dad made out a check within just a few minutes, for an extremely well-preserved classic mustang. It’s quite machine. It sounded really nice as well.

There’s a reason why I said about that sound in the past tense. It sounded perfect until it became silent. The old man tells me that it’s a quick problem and that all he requires is the right part. I’m thinking, it may not be as painless to find 1969 Mustang parts as it was like 30 years ago, but he tells me there is a pretty nice-sized aftermarket for them to this day. From what I’m told the nicest way to buy parts for 1966 Mustangs is through online auctions, since you can get them refurbbed and often even brand new. They’re only sometimes super-cheap, however… Come on, man, these are ancient classic car parts.

I guess it could’ve been worse… It would’ve been worse if he’d bought himself a mail-order bride.
